AVID Physio specializes in bringing high-quality physiotherapy directly to your doorstep, supporting clients with a wide range of rehabilitation needs.

Whether recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, or rebuilding strength after an injury, we offer comprehensive in-home physiotherapy services tailored to each client's unique circumstances. Additionally, we provide private physiotherapy in hospital settings for clients who need focused, individualized support during their stay.

We understand that mobility challenges, certain medical conditions, or injuries can make visiting a clinic inconvenient or impossible. That’s why we come to you, offering the same professional, evidence-based care you’d receive in a clinic—right in the familiar environment of your home. Our therapists not only deliver personalized treatments but also guide clients on how to use their home environment to support recovery, optimize mobility, and reinforce their therapy goals.

We work collaboratively to address each client's needs, including helping coordinate additional home support personnel when necessary. Meet Your Physiotherapist

Steven Colangelo

Bachelor of Science, Physical Therapy. University of Toronto (2003)
Honours Bachelor of Science, Kinesiology. University of Western Ontario (2000)

Steven is a registered Physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.

He is the clinical director for Avid Physiotherapy and a Physiotherapist at Lifetime Sports Medicine Clinic. 

  • His treatment approach focuses on evidence based scientific training principles. Steven is a NeuroGym certified therapist. In addition to providing physiotherapy at Lifetime Sports Medicine Clinic, Steven also provides in-home physiotherapy throughout the west GTA to a variety of clients with a focus on complex orthopaedic and neurological rehabilitation.

    *During your treatments, Steven will sometimes be accompanied by a Physiotherapy Assistant. Physiotherapy Assistants are all graduates of a recognized college in Ontario.

  • He obtained an honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario in 2000 with a focus on the scientific basis of exercise and human movement. In addition, Steven’s undergraduate studies also included formal research in sports nutrition and athletic performance – creating a strong foundation of evidence based scientific training principles.

    Steven continued his academic training at the University of Toronto where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 2003.

  • Steven’s professional experience has focused on stroke rehabilitation, and providing complex orthopaedic and neurological assessment / rehabilitation. Additionally, Steven has extensive experience in post-operative rehabilitation: ACL reconstruction, hip / knee replacements.
